A team of determined staff from HMG Paints are taking the original 1930’s delivery bike on a cross country cycle from Manchester to Scarborough to raise funds for new partners Macmillan Cancer support.
Since Macmillan Cancer support and HMG Paints shared their new partnership plans on World Cancer day, as HMG Paints staff have been training for the sponsored bike ride over the course of two days. The group of 12 men will tackle a 122 mile bike ride with the refurbished delivery bike, from HMG Paints Manchester headquarters to Scarborough, “We are all nervously looking forward to this challenge, having all experienced how cancer can affect lives, not only those of the sufferers but the family and friends around them, having the chance to raise awareness and funds for such a great cause like Macmillan means a lot to us and will motivate us throughout the ride” said Paddy Dyson, HMG Paints Marketing Manager and participant in the cycle.
Macmillan Cancer Support provides support and helps those with cancer take back some control in their life. From help and support with money worries and advice about work, to help with day to day activities and chores.
The cycle will set off from HMG Paints Manchester Headquarters and will be greeted in York by the Macmillan team. Thanks to local businesses who have shown great support sponsoring and providing supplies for the bike ride such as Brodericks love coffee, Astra Signs and L&J Print, the 12 cycslists will safely arrive in Scarborough on the 4th of June to a group of supporters.
