Key Personnel
Every member of HMG Paints team are key personnel and it's their passion for paint which makes us the company we are, below you can find out more about our directors.
John Falder
Chairman
John became Chairman in June 2021 after serving as Managing Director since 1992 and has worked within HMG since 1976.
A graduate in chemistry and marine biology from Bangor University and a Licentiate from the Royal Institute of Chemistry, John is President of the British Coatings Federation and Chairman of the Vehicle Refinish Group and the Industrial Coatings Council of the BCF (British Coatings Federation).
John is also a local authority (Manchester) School Governor and Chairman of the School Finance Group.
Steve Crossman
Chief Operations Officer
Steve is Chief Operations Officer at HMG Paints Ltd and has worked for the company since 1984. Steve has overall responsibility for daily HMG Operations and leads the strategic development of the company along with the Senior Management Board.
Steve completed an MSc in Manufacturing Leadership from Lancaster University Management School,
Steve was previously Business Development Director and also Technical Manager for several years and has vast experience of the coatings industry and of all departments within the company.
Jonathan Falder
Special Projects Director
Jonathan is the 4th Generation of the Falder family to join the HMG Paints Board of Directors.
Since joining the business in 2005 Jonathan has worked across every area of HMG from production to sales gaining a breadth of experience. Jonathan has an extensive technical background having formulated many of HMG’s current paint systems. An associate of the Royal Institute of Chemistry and an education ambassador for the coatings industry, he spent 6 years in India working on joint venture TitanHMG and runs the HMG nanomaterials team and special projects team.
Danny Cleary
Sales Director
Danny became HMG's Sales Director in August 2011 and is in control of HMG's sales force.
He joined HMG Paints in 1997 and through his time here has worked as various different roles within the sales department.
Joining HMG’s operations board in July 2008 Danny then went on to receive a merit in his Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) at Manchester Metropolitan University.
John Fenton
Personnel Director
John is HMG’s Personnel Director and is responsible for personnel and maintenance, overseas business development and select account management.
John has now been with HMG over 20 years and is an acting member of the board of directors.
Mike Jennings
Finance Director
Mike joined HMG Paints in 2020 and provides a wealth of experience having operated at board level for over 18 years across a number of industries. Years of managing high performing teams also make Mike the perfect fit for HMG and our ambitious strategies.
As a previous finalist at the North West Finance Awards for SME Finance Director of the year, Mike brings strong management skills with a diligent approach to accountancy.
Steve Hutton
Production Director
Steve Hutton joined HMG Paints in 2001 and is the third generation of the Hutton family to work at HMG.
Steve’s experience of many HMG departments including the Colour Laboratory, Quality Control, several manufacturing departments, Warehousing and Logistics, and then more recently, Production Planning give him the perfect background to manage the Operations within HMG.
Rebecca Falder
Company Secretary
Rebecca is the 4th Generation of the Falder family to work with the HMG Paints Board of Directors.
Rebecca has worked across numerous departments within HMG including Quality, Marketing and Accounts and was appointed Company Secretary in November 2021 .Additionally to her role within HMG, Rebecca is Chair of the CBI North West Future Leaders Network, Ambassador for Be the Business and winner of the Family Business Network National Next Generation Award

North West Sales
Ashley works alongside HMG's customers to support their business by providing product advice and recommendations across a number of industries including street furniture, industrial coatings, architectural and distribution services.
Paul Edwards
Industrial Sales Manager
With over 30 years of experience at HMG Paints, Paul leads the companies Industrial Sales and works alongside OEM's, refinishers and Industrial companies to ensure the supplied system is suitable for their requirements.
Roger Blinco
South East Technical Sales Manager
Working alongisde HMG's distributors and customers in the South East of England Roger covers all aspects of HMG's paint portfolio and works closely with customers to ensure they recieve the perfect paint system for their needs.
