John Falder

Chairman

John became Chairman in June 2021 after serving as Managing Director since 1992 and has worked within HMG since 1976.

A joint honours graduate in chemistry and marine biology from Bangor University and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chemistry, Fellow of the Technical Society of Coatings.

John is current President the Nova global Coatings alliance and ex-president of the British coatings Federation (BCF,) formally the Chairman of the Vehicle Refinish Group and the Industrial Coatings Council of the BCF.

John is a local authority (Manchester) School Governor and chairs the member's board of the Greater Manchester Academy Trust

Steve Crossman

Chief Operations Officer

Steve is Chief Operations Officer at HMG Paints Ltd and has worked for the company since 1984. Steve has overall responsibility for the day to day HMG Business and leads the strategic development of the company along with the Senior Leadership Team.

Steve completed an MSc in Manufacturing Leadership from Lancaster University Management School.

Steve was previously Business Development Director and also Technical Manager for several years and has vast experience of the coatings industry and of all departments within the company.

Jonathan Falder

Special Projects Director

Jonathan is the 4th Generation of the Falder family to join the HMG Paints Board of Directors.

Since joining the business in 2005 Jonathan has worked across every area of HMG from production to sales gaining a breadth of experience. Jonathan has an extensive technical background and has been instrumental in formulating many of HMG’s current paint systems. An associate of the Royal Institute of Chemistry and an education ambassador for the coatings industry, he spent 6 years in India working on joint venture TitanHMG and runs the HMG nanomaterials team and special projects team.

Danny Cleary

Sales Director

Danny became HMG's Sales Director in August 2011 and is responsible for the setting the strategic vision and direction of HMG's dynamic sales team.

He joined HMG Paints in 1997 and through his time here has worked in various different sales-based roles including Field Sales, Sales Support and overall Sales Manager.

Joining HMG’s operations board in July 2008, Danny went on to receive a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Mike Jennings

Finance Director

A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Mike provides HMG with a wealth of experience having operated at board level for over 21 years across a number of industries.

Years of managing high performing teams make Mike the perfect fit for HMG and, as a previous finalist at the North West Finance Awards for SME Finance Director of the year, Mike combines his strong management skills with a diligent approach to accountancy ensuring HMG’s finances are effectively controlled.”

Dr Steve Hutton

Operations Director

Steve Hutton joined HMG Paints in 2001 and is the third generation of the Hutton family to work at HMG. Steve has a PhD in management science and a master’s degree in manufacturing leadership from Lancaster University.

Steve’s experience of many HMG departments including the Colour Laboratory, Quality Control, several manufacturing departments, Warehousing and Logistics, and then more recently, Production Planning give him the perfect background to manage the Operations within HMG.

Rebecca Bristow

Company Secretary

Rebecca is the 4th Generation of the Falder family to work with the HMG Paints Board of Directors.

Rebecca has worked across numerous departments within HMG including Quality, Marketing and Accounts and was appointed Company Secretary in November 2021 .Additionally to her role within HMG, Rebecca is Chair of the CBI North West Future Leaders Network, Ambassador for Be the Business and winner of the Family Business Network National Next Generation Award
