Aston Martin Racing (AMR) have unveiled its ambitious plans and car for the new season, which includes a new eye catching livery, with backup from new collaborations with global energy supplier TOTAL and tyre supplier Dunlop along with longer standing technical partnerships like the UK’s leading independent paint manufacturer HMG Paints.

The team have revealed their latest V8 Vantage GTE; the car which shall support the outfit’s GTE Pro entries. The V8 Vantage GTE challenger will be sporting a green livery named Stirling Green, a shade shared with the brand’s most select sports cars that respects the firm’s sports cars but represents its exciting future.

Now in its third year, the partnership with HMG Paints saw Advanced Colour Design team develop the specified iconic green shade at the Manchester Headquarters, employing their extensive colour matching and colour development expertise to create the high performance motorsport coating.

After the implication of new regulation changes, the car also presented changes such as a fully re-designed aerodynamic package; as well as the new high performance coating supplied by HMG Paints. “Our 2016 GTE car looked stunning in its new green livery and thanks to HMG’s quick delivery we were able to prepare the car to a tight deadline. Thank you to HMG paints for a great product and fantastic service.” said Martin Ellis, Aston Martin Racing’s Fabrication and Composites Supervisor.

Working closely with clients such as Aston Martin Racing, HMG’s Advanced Colour Design team offers customers the chance to match or design their own shades, using sparkled, fluorescent or metallic pigment technology to create their own unique colours. Due to the team’s strong relationships with pigment suppliers from all across the world, HMG’s customers have unrivalled access to the newest pigment technologies in the market producing the most unique, high specification finishes.

“Throughout our strong partnership with Aston Martin Racing we have completed many exciting and unique projects, creating bespoke colours which are possible through HMG’s access to the latest releases in pigments. In such a quick moving industry on and off the track we are proud that we can supply quality colour matched coatings to fit in with their tight schedule.” Steve Kennedy, HMG Paints Advanced Colour Design Technician, who has over 40 years’ experience in the coatings industry.

Including the V8 Vantage GTE the AMR team will race three cars in this year’s FIA World Endurance Championship and world renowned endurance competition, 24 Hours of Le Mans; two GTE Pro classes and a single contender in GTE Am. With these new developments and exciting new, and existing partnerships, AMR are confident their three entries are in with a chance to add to the brand’s current 23 overall wins in FIA WEC; more than any other manufacturer.

The V8 Vantage GTE’s new design and livery will be making its debut at The Prologue, the official WEC test session at Circuit Paul Ricard in France on the 25th and 26th March. The opening round of the championship, the Six Hours of Silverstone, takes place on the 17th April.
