Previously, epoxy enamel was never made available on the ColourBase software. But now, after working closely with our distributors, we can now provide this addition to the UNIT tinting scheme.
After extensive development work in the Colour Laboratory, the epoxy enamel colours were tweaked slightly and reverted back to the original master standards. With these developments, a database was built which will provide all distribution customers with HMG’s UNIT tinting scheme with the ability to mix epoxy enamels in a vast range of different colours.
The epoxy based products included on the database are Epilife and EP2 Epoxy Primer. Epilife is a 2K epoxy topcoat that combines excellent mechanical properties, high durability, chemical resistance and corrosion resistance under severe exposure conditions.
EP2 Epoxy Primer is a 2K primer that is fast drying, has superb wet-on-wet application properties and provides excellent adhesion to steel and some plastics.
The database allows these product bases to be tinted in a wide range of BS and RAL colour shades and Epilife is also available in various sheen levels including gloss, semi-gloss and matt.
The ColourBase software is presented in an intuitive and user friendly way to allow distribution customers to mix a range of end products. All information detailing the hardener, thinner and colourant to binder ratios is very clear and perfectly complements the UNIT tinting system.
