Manchester based HMG Paints Ltd is continuing a long tradition of investing in young staff by looking to recruit 9 new apprentices over the coming months.
The coatings manufacturer based outside the city centre is working alongside Trafford College and Skills Solutions on the scheme which will see the apprentices working in 3 business areas. 3 apprentices will be in the Laboratory, 3 will be in manufacturing and 3 in the Despatch and Trade Counter.
The company has employed 11 apprentices over the last few years and Business Development Director Steve Crossman, who himself joined HMG as a lab junior, is keen to develop more young talent for the company. “HMG Paints has always been committed to the professional development of our employees and we are proud to once again be recruiting more apprentices. We currently have apprentices working in production, laboratory and administrative departments throughout the company and believe we are establishing solid foundations for the future of HMG Paints.”
The apprentice opportunities can be found on The National Apprenticeship website, www.apprenticeships.gov.uk, and the company is encouraging applications through this channel.
HMG Paints is the UK’s largest independent paint manufacturer and encouraging personal development has always been fundamental to HMG’s culture and growth. The apprentices will receive excellent academic tuition on a weekly basis, whilst being provided vital hands on experience of working within the paints industry.
The company was rewarded with Trafford College’s Commitment to Training Award for Science and Pharmacy and Apprentice Joe Di Bartolo, also proudly received the award for Advanced Apprentice of the Year for Lab Technology in recognition of his achievements. Joe and fellow apprentice Tyrone Fox also spoke at a national conference alongside Rt Hon Jack Straw MP on the importance of apprenticeships within the coatings industry.
