High pressure clean to remove all loose debris and contamination. Degrease using suitable degreaser and scrubbing action to remove any contamination not removed from cleaning alone. Bare concrete: Power floated/non porous should be etched or abraded prior to painting, this can be achieved by etching using an acid etch or blasting either vacuum or similar, please see knowledge base above. Porous concrete should be checked for laitance, if this is present then prepare as above. Previous coatings: Check previous coatings are compatible with any new coating to be applied, all coatings should be sound and well adhered with all failed and damaged areas removed back to firm well feathered edge. Lightly abrade to provide key. Bare wooden floor: Lightly abrade, hard wood floors should be wiped using methylated spirit to remove any resin from the surface, primed to avoid resin bleed using aluminium primer. Soft woods may require knotting treatment prior to application of thinned first coat. Steel or metal: Prepared to remove all rust/corrosion and primed using suitable primer.
