Additional Technical Information

The light-fastness of fluorescent pigments (all grades) is between 2 - 3 on the Blue Wool Scale (of 8). This level of colour fastness is increased to 3 - 4 by over-lacquering with a UVRA containing clear varnish or lacquer. Please ask our Technical Service Department for specific recommendations.

In all environments, Fluorescent paints will fade 5 - 10 times faster than conventional industrial, decorative or automotive coatings.

Cleaning

Ensure surfaces to be coated are dry and must be cleaned using the appropriate HMG product to remove all traces of contaminants. HMG produce a full range of cleaners, silicone removers, degreasers and preparatory cleaners suitable for the cleaning process. Waterborne LMP Fluorescent is a three coat system.
1) LMP Matt White
2) LMP Fluorescent
3) Overcoat with Hydrothane 2K Clearcoat to attain gloss, improve durability and help protect against UV degradation
