Additional Technical Information

The light-fastness of fluorescent pigments (all grades) is between 2 - 3 on the Blue Wool Scale (of 8). This level of colour fastness is increased to 3 - 4 by over-lacquering with a UVRA containing clear varnish or lacquer. Please ask our Technical Service Department for specific recommendations.

In all environments, Fluorescent paints will fade 5 - 10 times faster than conventional industrial, decorative or automotive coatings.

Colour Range

Blaze, Fire Orange, Rocket Red, Saturn Yellow, Signal Green, Aurora Pink and Horizon Blue.

Cleaning

Ensure surfaces to be coated are dry and must be cleaned using the appropriate HMG product to remove all traces of contaminants. HMG produce a full range of Preparatory Cleaners suitable for most cleaning and degreasing processes. Please refer to our website for Knowledge Base article Prep-Cleaning Techniques (KNB0009) and Preparatory Cleaners from the Product Guide.

Surface Preparation

Cellulose Fluorescent is a three coat system. 1) Cellulose White Primer such as HMG APS White Primer 2) Cellulose Fluorescent 3) Overcoat with Acrythane 2K Clearcoat to attain gloss, improve durability and help protect against UV degradation. Please refer to Knowledge Base for details on Surface Preparation.

Health & Safety

  • Refer to SDS and tin label prior to use.
  • Suitable respiratory equipment should be worn when spraying.
